UXO
UXO risk assessment for an energy project.
Non-invasive investigation and anomaly maps for a renewable energy development site.
Archaeology / Renewables
COEMI Srl

THE CONTEXT
Archaeological risk assessment (VRA) over a 23,000 m² area commissioned by COEMI Srl, with Plenitude (Eni Group) as the end client.
THE CHALLENGE
The goal of the survey was to detect potential buried archaeological features within the project area, minimizing the number of preventive excavations required by the Archaeological Superintendence.Given the site’s high archaeological sensitivity, a non-invasive yet high-resolution methodology was adopted to accurately differentiate anthropogenic disturbances from true archaeological remains.
OUTPUTS
Non-invasive multisensor survey using electromagnetic and magnetic instruments.
Raw data reprocessing and anomaly classification via proprietary DeepGeo® software.
Georeferenced anomaly map with archaeological compatibility evaluation.
Total number of archaeological test trenches reduced from 20 to 5, resulting in significant time and cost savings.
RESULT
20 → 5
