Unexploded ordnance (UXO) risk assessment and subsurface mapping over a 150,000 m² area commissioned by Escolight Srl, with Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) as the end client.
THE CHALLENGE
Understanding the risk.
The project required a detailed assessment of the area designated for infrastructure works to ensure the absence of UXO and avoid interference with existing utilities.The goal was to perform a fully non-invasive, high-precision multisensor survey reaching depths of up to 7 meters, minimizing the need for intrusive methods such as coring or exploratory excavation.
